Eastern Washington

Birdwatchers can see a variety of resident bird species year-round throughout the Columbia Basin. The Columbia River and pothole lakes of the region provide habitat for a variety of migratory waterfowl and other birds that can be spotted throughout the spring and summer, while areas along the ponderosa pine belt rimming the arid basin support some of the richest densities of bird species in the state of Washington.
