Green Soldier Stink BugEastern Washington

The Green Soldier Stink Bug is an orchard pest that sucks juice from cherries, peaches, nectarines, apples and pears, causing fruit drop or leaving corky spots. They typically affect border trees as they feed on mullein and bitterbrush outside of orchards throughout the summer. They're called stink bugs because they spray a stinky liquid when threatened or bugged. They also sing, or rather, transmit vibrations through plants to attract a mate. |
